Break it down, It's trivia time

6 out of my last 23 posts have made reference to songs, who amongst my 2 readers can name the songs and artists? And for an added bonus name the source of the 3 other cultural references in my post titles.

I picked up a Pat Benetar, a Thomas Dolby, and a Who reference. Also, James Bond and Augusten Burroughs. That's five.

Hey! ok, that's four of the songs two more to go. Unfortunately Rufus gave me too much credit for 'Running with Scissors' (I just thought it was cute), so that makes 2 more cultural references.

P.S. Thanks for stopping by Rufus (I'm a big fan) and Lisa

OK- How about these...

"I'm back..." Delivered so beautifully by Jack Nicholson in The Shining

and

Michelle Branch (Find Your way Back)

Alright. I admit a cheated on that last one, but I'm such a sucker for a challenge.

So, it's just Rufus and me, huh? :-)

Oops... I meant Jefferson Starship for "Find Your Way Back." They were first. (Yeah, I cheated and still blew it.)

So, one song left.

If you'd have written, (Won't You) Please, PLease Help Me, we'd have the Beatles. Otherwise, I'm stumped at the moment.

Now, we do have The Wizard of Oz in there. Oh, my! I think we've covered the cultural references.

One song left. Numbers? I keep thinking about "four dead in Ohio" and "we were half a million strong" when I see "1000 and Counting," But that's not getting me anywhere.

Come on Rufus! Win the prize for us! I think we only have one to go!

That's right, only one song left, and I'll give a hint, I replaced a word that should be there with one more appropriate to the post. And I had forgotten to count "I'm back" even though that's the reference I was thinking of when I wrote it. So I will count it, but it does mean there is one cultural references left, and it's from an obscure 80's movie.

I've had fun with this and I think I will do a trivia thing once a week(or so).

Movie? Could it be, THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION?

Beyond that, I'm stumped.

C'mon Rufus!

Richard,

I hope you don't keep us in suspense for too long!

Very good Peter Weller movie too. So it sounds like I should give up the last song.... it's M.C. Hammer's Hammer Time, in the title of the trivia question itself.
